2026 Reads Thus Far

 Hello and welcome beautiful people!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog😊. Today is Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 and I spent the day doing classwork and getting my steps in in this heat. According to my Apple Watch, between both of my walks, I walked a total of 4.4 miles or 7.08 kilometers. Just like last Thursday, today's topic is about BOOKS!

So far this year I have read 7 books with a goal of wanting to read 25 by the end of December 2026. Goodreads likes to remind me that I am 5 books behind schedule😖 but I have a plan for catching up! The seven books that I've read thus far are listed below with titles having an asterisk [*] beside them being read with my ELA class:

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope, by William Kamkwamba*

Kingdom of Ash, by Sarah J. Mass

Two Roads, by Joseph Burchac*

House of Earth and Blood, by Sarah J. Mass

The Jade Setter of Janloon, by Fonda Lee

Hidden Figures, by Margot Lee Shetterly*

House of Sky and Breath, by Sarah J. Mass

The fourth book that I read with my class, at the beginning of the year, is one of my favourites and a series that really got me into reading. That book was the first of seven of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, PJO: The Lightning Thief. The movies that followed the books were hot garbage and anyone else my age can attest as they did not follow the book one bit and the people cast were too old so the script writers had to rewrite the MAIN prophecy of the series🙄. Needless to say, they stopped with the movies after the second, thank goodness and have since started a TV series on Disney+ the follows the books a little more closely.

This next picture is of my reading stats from 2025. Two I already know that I surpassed is that of "longest book," which goes to Kingdom of Ash, by Sarah J. Mass as it was 8 pages shy of 1000 and the other one being "average book length" as all three Sarah J. Mass books that I have read (working on a fourth) have been over 700 pages long😅.

I won't know the average until the end of the year but I am sure that it will stay over an average of 500 pages as "short" books don't typically have enough character and world building in my opinion.

As always,

Here are some short videos pertaining to books:
