A Graduate Students Backpack
Hello and welcome beautiful people!
Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog๐. Today is Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 and I spent the majority of the day going through the readings for my summer classes. I also went to a silent book club even at Troubador Booksellers (not sponsored). I have yet to finish my book, A House of Flame and Shadow๐ฉ and we are already in July. Just like last Wednesday, today's topic pertains to what I keep in my backpack as a graduate student.
If you read last weeks blog, then you'll remember ole girl. If you didn't I suggest starting there and them coming back to finish this weeks post. Anyway, since it is summer, I keep all that is in the above picture in this bag but come the fall and the start of school, I may have to dig up an old tote bag or find a big enough purse to carry everything.
As for what I actually carry within my backpack, it's the same as when I was an undergraduate student at Winston-Salem State University. The only things that have changed between then and now is my laptop as the one I had in undergrad had seen better days (it's disk storage was also full and I have yet to figure out how to clear it), and the fact that I now carry a clipboard that gives storage for loose papers(which is the item at the bottom of the picture).
I keep my laptop in my pouch which my parents go me for my freshman year of college (same brand as my backpack and what is under my laptop), I also keep my notebook in there as well (the one with the cartoon girl holding ice coffee).
This go-round I have one physical text book for my MDSK 6252 class which was optional as my professor provided a digital link for the same book. This textbook, my notebook, the red pencil case, and my clipboard all fit in the main (and only) part of my backpack.
Everything in the middle of the picture at the top are all the small, miscellaneous things that I keep in the front pouch. I think one of the best finds I've made is a wireless and bluetooth mouse, which is the blue thing beside the vaseline. I also keep carmex and hand sanitizer-- the latter getting used more often than not as people can't seem to wipe the table before they leave.
As always,
